Inter target Andreas Christensen is close to joining Barcelona on a free transfer from Chelsea, so the Nerazzurri must look elsewhere for defensive reinforcements.

The Denmark international has reportedly reached an agreement over a three-year deal with the La Liga giants. Reports in Italy confirm what Sport Diario said last week. Inter were among the clubs interested in the Denmark defender as they will likely change their defensive back-line next season.

Stefan de Vrij could leave the club as he only has one year left in his contract with the Nerazzurri and Christensen was one of his possible replacements. Torino‘s Gleison Bremer remains among the Nerazzurri’s main target. The Brazilian has recently extended with Torino until 2024, but he is still likely to leave in the summer for an offer in the region of €25m.

Personal terms agreed: Inter lead Chelsea and Milan in race to sign Bremer

Il Corriere dello Sport reported in February that the defender has already reached a verbal agreement with the Serie A giants, who now need to convince Torino. Matthias Ginter has also been linked with a move to the Meazza, but the Germany international will likely join Bayern Munich on a free transfer. The same is true of Lazio‘s Luiz Felipe, who will join Betis in the summer, according to Marca.

Inter also continue to monitor Marcos Senesi (Feyenoord) and Martin Hinteregger (Einthract), but Bremer will likely become their priority target now that Christensen is off to the Nou Camp.
