Media reports seem convinced that Mino Raiola sadly passed away earlier today, but Alberto Zangrillo, director of the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, insists the Italian super-agent is ‘still fighting.’

Multiple reports from Italy initially broke the news today that the 54-year-old super agent passed away in San Raffaele Hospital in Milan following a long illness.

Last month rumours suggested that Raiola was in serious condition at the hospital but things soon went quiet, with no reports following the initial murmurings.

Both Raiola’s family and his press office have denied the reports of his passing. Associated Press journalist Daniella Matar was reportedly told by his agency that “they’re fake rumours. He’s not dead.” The San Raffaele Hospital has also not confirmed the reports, despite the media reports.

“I am outraged by the calls of pseudo-journalists who are speculating on the life of a man who is fighting,” he told ANSA.

According to the report, Raiola is in extremely serious condition in hospital.

His right-hand man Jose Fontes reportedly told NOS Sport that “he’s in a bad position, but he hasn’t died,” adding further confusion to the situation.

New York Times reporter Tariq Panja was reportedly told by a British agent and close friend of Raiola that the super agent hasn’t died but is “very, very ill.”

Tragically it seems likely that even if he hasn’t passed away yet, Raiola is unlikely to recover from his illness. Professor Alberto Zangrillo, an Anaesthesiologist at San Raffaele Hospital, told ANSA that he is “outraged by reports from pseudo journalists who speculate on the life of a man who is fighting.”

  1. Zlatan’s book tells you why players love him and football clubs hate him.

He makes Players keep more of the money the club makes.

  2. Does nobody check sources these days or is it more important to get the story out first in a race to the bottom? Second time this year he has been reported as dead.
