Japan international Keisuke Honda has claimed that he will play at this World Cup as if it’s his last.

The Milan playmaker is talismanic for his national team, and is currently preparing with the rest of the squad in Tampa, Florida.

And speaking to newspaper Kyodo at their training base, the Rossoneri man has admitted that he is going to Brazil as if it’s his last major tournament.

“I think we’re all ready to surprise the world,” he told the paper. “We just have to believe in our style and play like we normally do.

“Right now, we’re focused on going as far as possible. The World Cup only comes around once every four years.

“And there’s no guarantee that I’m going to be around in four years’ time. So I want to play this tournament as if it’ll be my last.”
