Italy sensation Willy Gnonto starts against Germany tonight in the Nations League and could be playing there next season, as TSG Hoffenheim enter talks for the winger.

The 18-year-old is a product of the Inter youth academy, but left as a free agent to join FC Zurich in July 2020.

He impressed with 10 goals and five assists in 36 competitive games for the Swiss club, earning his senior Italy debut and tonight will be his fourth cap.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the latest candidates to sign Gnonto in the summer is Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim.

Serie A sides to show an interest in the teenager include Sassuolo, Sampdoria, Bologna, Torino and newly-promoted Monza.

His contract with FC Zurich only runs to June 2023, but the asking price is believed to be pushing €10-15m.

Gnonto made his senior Italy debut in the 1-1 Nations League draw with Germany earlier this month and within five minutes had set up the goal for Lorenzo Pellegrini.

  1. Gnonto is definitely NOT ready for primetime and looks lost and bewildered most of the time , constantly gets taken of the ball, is one-footed and doesn’t have blazing speed, so stop the hype that he’s some sort of “sensation” ! Maybe in the future he will materialize.
