Denmark coach Kasper Hjulmand believes Inter are wasting Christian Eriksen’s quality and hopes the Dane will make the best decision for his career and for the national team.

Eriksen joined Inter in a €27m move from Tottenham in January 2020 and has played 39 games since.

The former Spurs star has played 393 minutes across all competitions so far this season.

“Christian has played far too little in 2020. It is really a waste of quality,”  Hjulmand told Ekstrabladet.

“When I see what he can do, I hope and believe that much more playing time awaits him this year,” the Denmark coach added.

Eriksen is expected to leave Inter in the January transfer window although his wages are reportedly stalling his exit.

“I am convinced that Christian will make the right decisions that will benefit both his career and the national team,” Hjulmand continued.

The coach does not hide his concern ahead of Euro 2020.

“His lack of game time can be worrying, neither Christian nor others can perform at their highest level if they do not have the right rhythm.”
