The Argentinian international went off injured in the Derby della Mole last Sunday, and it was later confirmed he had suffered an ankle injury.

It was feared that would keep him out of the Champions League second leg with Tottenham Hotspur, but Tuttosport believes he is nearing a return.

The newspaper states that if that match were to be played on Sunday, Higuain would probably be able to play, but he won’t be risked against Atalanta this weekend with Mario Mandzukic and Paulo Dybala both fit.

It’s likely Pipita will be on the bench, but only to be used in case of emergency.

His return is therefore expected to be on Wednesday, when Juve face Atalanta in the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final.

In either case, Higuain is expected to be available to face Spurs.
