Gonzalo Higuain gave his views on getting accustomed to Chelsea, cheering on Milan and “may the best team win” Napoli-Juventus.

The Argentine scored the opener in today’s 2-1 Premier League victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage with a smart low finish at the near post, then Jorginho curled the winner in from the edge of the box to take some more pressure off Coach Maurizio Sarri.

“It makes me laugh that people say I wasn’t there when I didn’t score, but I am back when I do,” Pipita told Sky Sport Italia.

“It makes me laugh that people say I wasn’t there when I didn’t score, but I am back when I do,” Pipita told Sky Sport Italia.

“I’m happy with the goal and the win, there was also a great save to deny a second, but these are three fundamental points in the sprint for the Champions League places.

“It was a difficult start to the season for me, I am in a new team, the past is in the past and I have to focus on Chelsea now.”

Higuain started the campaign at Milan, but left in January for Chelsea and his old club has thrived, leapfrogging Inter into third place this weekend.

“I am not surprised to see Milan in third place, as they have a great team, great Coach, I left friends there. Sometimes in football, things just don’t work out.

“I made a decision that I thought would go better. They are doing well too, so everyone’s happy.”

Higuain’s other former Serie A clubs, Napoli and Juventus, go head-to-head at the Stadio San Paolo this evening.

“Tonight I am cheering on for the beauty of football and may the best team win. I do miss Italy, as I was there for six years, but I am now trying to enjoy this marvellous city of London.”
