Former Napoli, Milan and Juventus forward Gonzalo Higuain has praised Inter striker Lautaro Martinez. 'I hope he can give Argentina great joy'.
Higuain, who moved to Inter Miami FC in September, spoke about the responsibilities of wearing Argentina’s No 9 shirt ahead of the upcoming national break.
“It’s the one that weighs the most, because behind you there’s a country,” Higuain told TyC Sports. “The happiness of wearing it depends on you.
“I have a clear conscience, I wish Lautaro the best.”

Lautaro has scored 10 goals in 19 games for his nation and started both games in the World Cup qualifiers last month.
Higuain, capped 71 times by the Albiceleste, scored 31 times for the national side and he believes the young Inter forward is ready to establish himself at international level.
“I see a lot of potential in him, he’s very young and starts at Inter, which is not easy at his age.
“Playing qualifiers is very complicated, as is the World Cup, where you must feel good for a month.
“Lautaro has great skills, I hope he can give great joy to the national team. It’s difficult to judge a player at 24, he has a long career ahead of him.
“I would like to evaluate him when his trajectory ends and after seeing if he will remain at such a high level for many years.”
Argentina, who won both games in the qualifiers in October, prepare to face Paraguay at home on November 13 and then travel to Peru five days later.
