The Italian press were happy with the work of Paul Pogba in Juventus’ 1-1 draw with Sevilla, suggesting that he’s finally started to show why the club were so keen to bring him back.

Things have not been easy for the 30-year-old Frenchman since his return to Turin last summer. Soon after his arrival, Pogba suffered a knee injury whilst on the pre-season tour in the United States, something that required surgical intervention in early September.

Pogba missed around 40 games this season for Juventus through injury, but has finally started to take to the pitch again, coming off the bench in their last two league outings.         He played 20 minutes against Sevilla, providing the crucial assist for Federico Gatti’s last-second equaliser.

La Gazzetta dello Sport were happy with Pogba’s contributions to the match, suggesting that he’s finally ready to start showing his best once again, writing: “A backheel, then a header assist for Gatti: he’s back.”

Tuttosport echoed these sentiments, believing that these kinds of assists are exactly why he was brought back to the club, saying: “The first signs of the Octopus.”

Corriere dello Sport underlined his ability to impact the match coming off the bench, commenting: “As in Bergamo, he enters the match with profit and gives Gatti’s header for the equaliser.”

Pogba’s ratings in the Italian newspapers:

La Gazzetta dello Sport: 6.5

Tuttosport: 6.5

Corriere dello Sport: 6
