Hernanes believes Juventus are still the best team in Italy, and is looking forward to playing in the Champions League.
The Brazilian midfielder joined the Bianconeri from Inter on deadline day in an €11m move, and despite a poor start, believes his new side are still the team to beat.
“Inter or Juventus? It’s hard to say,” Hernanes mused in an interview with Globoesporte.
“At this point, I’d say Juventus. The numbers prove it. Juventus have have just won four consecutive Scudetti, so they’re superior.
Hernanes believes Juventus are still the best team in Italy, and is looking forward to playing in the Champions League.

“At this point, I’d say Juventus. The numbers prove it. Juventus have have just won four consecutive Scudetti, so they’re superior.
“Would I do a somersault if I scored against Inter? It’s too early to think about that now, the transfer happened so quickly that I’ve not even had time to take my clothes to Turin.
“Let’s see. We’re concentrating on Chievo first and foremost, then we’ll think about the other matches.”
Hernanes then gave some more details about the transfer, and reveals he joined the Old Lady for Champions League football.
“It was a surprise. I was surprised and happy, because things happen very quickly in football, and I was caught off-guard.
“I heard about it from my agent, he deals with things like this. I spoke to him on the phone after the game against Carpi on Sunday. He told me he was already on his way to Milan to sort everything out.
“He told me the teams were defining the deal, so I said yes because I wanted to play in the Champions League, and Juventus is a great club.
“The Champions League? We have a difficult group, [with Manchester City, Sevilla and Borussia Monchengladbach], but Juventus are a difficult team for opponents.
“We respect our opponents, but we focus on our goal, which is to win, not our opponents.”
The 30-year-old has won 27 caps for Brazil, but has so far not been called-up by new Coach Dunga.
“Dunga hasn’t called me, but I had two injuries at the start of last season which held me back,” Hernanes explained.
“It was only at the end of last season that I fully recovered and was able to be called again. I believe that I can work hard and improve my performance, and if I do that I’m sure I’ll be considered.
“Does the 7-1 defeat to Germany in the World Cup still hurt? No, it’s in the past. It’s something which shouldn’t have happened, but it did.
“It was a tragedy, but I got my head head up and now I’m dreaming of the next World Cup.”
