Enrico Preziosi claims Hernanes “was disappointed” to stay at Juventus after his proposed move to Genoa collapsed on deadline day last month.

Preziosi discussed Hernanes’ failed transfer a second time on Tuesday as he revealed to Sky Sport Italia that the midfielder was set on joining Genoa, but not before reiterating his gratitude to Leonardo Pavelotti for rejecting the chance to earn more money elsewhere.

“I publicly thanked [Leonardo] Pavoletti for rejecting an offer that would’ve earned him three times his salary,” the President said.

“Such a thing has never happened to me, which is why I’m talking about it.

“Hernanes? It was pretty much done, he was disappointed by the fact that he stayed at Juventus.

“Now we’ll see what happens, never say never.”
