Hernandez misses penalty in first half of Milan-Spezia

Theo Hernandez missed a dreadful penalty in the first half of Milan’s Serie A clash against Spezia this evening.

The Rossoneri were awarded the penalty after a collision between Rafael Leao and Spezia shot stopper Ivan Provedel, and the Frenchman calmly stepped up to the spot. Unfortunately for him and his teammates, however, he dragged his shot wide, letting the Ligurian side off the hook.

It wasn’t all terrible for Milan, however, as Leao scored a wonderful goal just before the half time break to give the Milanese club a 1-0 lead. This was entirely deserved considering the flow of play throughout the first half.

A win tonight against Spezia is key for the Rossoneri as they look to keep up the pressure on league leaders Inter, who drew 0-0 with Atalanta yesterday.

The next derby between the two Milanese club’s is scheduled for February 6, a game that could be decisive in the Scudetto race this season.
