Fabio Capello believes Neymar didn’t act as a leader against Manchester City and adds Angel Di Maria didn’t deserve a red card.

Pep Guardiola’s side qualified for the first Champions League Final in their history after a 2-0 win against PSG at the Etihad Stadium.

“Manchester City players defend well and help each other this season. They are a great team,” Capello told Sky Sport Italia.

“Fernandinho was one of the key players tonight, he stopped everybody. That was a brilliant move from Guardiola,” he added.

“Manchester City players defend well and help each other this season. They are a great team,” Capello told Sky Sport Italia.

“Fernandinho was one of the key players tonight, he stopped everybody. That was a brilliant move from Guardiola,” he added.

However, the former coach is disappointed with Neymar’s performance.

“I hoped he could do something. I hoped he could be more decisive and determined. He attempted too many useless dribbles. He didn’t act as a leader. A leader leads the team towards a result. He did too much talking.”

Angel Di Maria was sent off in the second half for stamping on Fernandinho.

The Brazilian slumped to the floor, and referee Bjorn Kuipers showed Di Maria a red card.

“That’s one thing I didn’t like today. The red card was exaggerated, it wasn’t dangerous, it wasn’t harsh, Fernandinho fell so easily, the referee should have booked them both,” the formed coach concluded.
