Milan hope that offering Jens Petter Hauge as part of the deal will help convince Udinese to part with Rodrigo De Paul.

The 27-year-old Argentina international has emerged as the first choice for the Rossoneri to replace out-going Hakan Calhanoglu.

There is plenty of competition for his signature, as well as a price-tag at a minimum of €40m.

Among the contenders for De Paul are Napoli, Inter, Atletico Madrid, Leeds United and Liverpool.

The Friulani are known to be tracking Hauge, the 21-year-old attacking wide man who was snapped up from Norwegians Bodo/Glimt for €4m in October 2020.

Hauge hasn’t played anywhere near as often as he expected to, particularly over the last few months of the season.

He nonetheless scored five goals in 24 competitive games for the Rossoneri.
