Joe Hart says he’s “at Torino to improve” and “doesn’t understand” why more English goalkeepers don’t move to Serie A.

The 29-year-old has joined the Granata on a season-long loan from Manchester City, and had his official presentation today.

“I train and play the same way, football is my passion and I’m fine here at Toro,” Hart explained.

“I’ll always give everything, until the end of the season. I’m training and I’m fine, I’m starting to understand what [Coach Sinisa] Mihajlovic wants. My mentality and Toro’s are the same.

“City gave me the opportunity to choose and I did that, now I’ll work to do well in Serie A with the Granata.

“I’m glad to be here and I don’t know why there have been so few English goalkeepers in Italy. I’m here and it’s a great opportunity for my career.

“There are big differences with England: the food is good, it’s healthier and I’m glad to be here.”

Hart was then asked for his inspirations, and he took the time to praise two Italian ‘keepers.

“My inspiration is David Seaman, he’s a friend and he gives me advice. [Gigi] Buffon is a great goalkeeper, along with [Manuel] Neuer and young [Gigi] Donnarumma.

“The goalkeeper has to make saves and help the team. That’s all.

“I learn every day from my teammates and the Coach, I’m 29-years-old, I’m young and I have an open mind to learn more.

“City gave me so many opportunities, but I’m at Torino to improve.”
