During his four-year stint at Fiorentina, the two-time World Cup winner with Argentina scored a sensational 35 goals in 139 games for the Viola.
That included 15 across all competitions in 1985-86, when he helped the Tuscans qualify for European competition.
His 11 goals in Serie A earned him a move to Inter, four years after coming to Italy from River Plate in 1982, and he went on make 73 appearances for the Nerazzurri.

Inter finished second to Napoli in his first season, but they struggled in his second and Passarella moved back home, returning to play one more year for River before retiring in 1989.
Passarella later coached Parma and his native Argentina, having helped them win the 1978 and 1986 World Cups as a player, but saw little success in both roles.
He left football altogether in 2013 after serving as President of River Plate for four years.
