Samir Handanovic concedes the only good things about Inter’s 2-1 win over Dnipro were the result and spirit.
The Nerazzurri went a goal down and it would’ve been 2-0 had Handanovic not parried a penalty, but despite Andrea Ranocchia’s dismissal they went on to victory.
“Tonight’s win was a real struggle,” the goalkeeper told Sport Mediaset. “We misplaced too many passes, I have to admit it.
“We can’t keep getting the approach to games wrong, but we have the right spirit and that is what I want to take away from this night.
“The tactics were not the problem, as we just got simple things wrong. It’s a psychological issue.”
Nonetheless, the victory ensured Inter progress to the next phase of the Europa League as group winners.
Handanovic has already saved three penalties in Serie A this season and confirmed his specialist status against Yevhen Konoplyanka.
“Saving is my job and I try to make as few mistakes as possible.”
The Slovenia international was also asked about his contract renewal negotiations.
“My agent is dealing with it and we’ll see what he says.”
