“It’s a complicated situation, hope springs eternal and we’ll see what happens,” Handanovic told Sky Sport Italia.
“We knew this was a very tough group, but we had to prove ourselves on the pitch and ultimately what happens there is the decider.
“I think Real Madrid are less accustomed to defending than they are passing the ball, so when they take an early lead, they move the ball around rapidly and you are left chasing shadows.
“This sort of game is their bread and butter.”
