Samir Handanovic took “my share of the responsibility” for Inter’s 4-1 hammering at the hands of Fiorentina.

The usually reliable goalkeeper gave away a penalty after a poor first touch, then could’ve done more on the second goal.

“It was a bad night. I compromised it to a degree and I take my share of the responsibility for this defeat,” Handanovic told Mediaset Premium.

“Having said that, in my view it was not a penalty. Nikola Kalinic went to ground before I even touched him. Then the red card after that finished the game.”

Inter had won five out of five with only one goal conceded before this humiliation on home turf.

“Now we have to hit the reset button and go forward, as bad days can happen in football.

“We continue aiming for the top and this defeat will not change our attitude. It’s a long season.”
