“When there are contracts in the balance, everyone has to play their part,” he told Inter Channel.
“In any case, I will say that we’re very close to agreeing a contract extension. I am happy to stay here.”

His current deal is due to expire next summer, so there were question marks over how long Inter let the situation drag on.
“We must forget everything that happened over the last few years, as it is a reconstruction process. Hopefully this is the right season to get back on track and with humility target the positions where Inter deserve to be.
“I don’t think we should ever settle, but of course look at the real objectives of the team. I am always happy when we keep a clean sheet, as it helps the whole side gain confidence.
“I hope this year to make only a few saves, but decisive ones. I try to improve and it’s fundamental to predict the opponents’ moves before they make them.
“I think this season Serie A will be more entertaining and even. Enthusiasm is fundamental for us and our fans. The fact we’re not in Europe isn’t so negative, as it could prove a turning point.”
