Inter announce that Samir Handanovic has also tested positive for COVID-19 after his teammate Danilo D’Ambrosio.

The goalkeeper and captain will therefore be ruled out of this weekend’s Serie A trip to Parma.

D’Ambrosio was the first player to test positive for the Coronavirus on Tuesday, placing the group into fiduciary isolation at the Pinetina training ground.

A pre-match press conference set for Friday has also been cancelled as a precaution.

Now a statement has been released confirming Handanovic has tested positive for COVID-19 and is self-isolating at home.

Inter had an outbreak of Coronavirus among their staff, which reportedly put director Giuseppe Marotta into hospital as a precaution.

There are several alternatives to Handanovic, none of them given any playing time this season.

Ionut Radu is in theory second choice, followed by Daniele Padelli and Filip Stankovic, the 19-year-old son of former Nerazzurri midfielder Dejan Stankovic.
