Marek Hamsik admits “this is a special game” as he captains Napoli against Slovan Bratislava in Slovakia.
The Europa League tie kicks off tomorrow at 20.05 UK time (19.05 GMT).
“This is a special game for me, as I played here for over two years and this is the first time I’ll be facing a Slovakian team in my career,” said Hamsik in his Press conference.
“I am happy to know I am an idol for Slovakian fans, as that is what a player dreams of when he’s a kid. My teammates asked me many questions about Slovan and the stadium where we’ll be playing.”
Napoli beat Sparta Prague 3-1 in their opening tie, but Slovan Bratislava were thumped 5-0 by Young Boys.
“Every game is different. Slovan have already forgotten that defeat and will step on the field looking for a victory.
“We want to win tomorrow so that we can get closer to securing qualification.”
