The Slovak scored in last night’s match, the result of which means Carlo Ancelotti’s side go to Liverpool needing only a draw to get through.

“We’re happy to have entertained our audience with the three points,” Hamsik wrote on his official website.

“I’m happy to have scored, but the most important thing was the win. Liverpool will be a great match, we’ll do everything to get through, we believe and we’re a great squad.

“The draw in Belgrade? Obviously there’s a bit of regret, but after five games who’d have believed we’d be in first place without losing?”
