The Slovakian scored in his side's 5-0 win over Cagliari on Sunday, and is now just 10 goals away from equalling Diego Maradona's all-time scoring record for the club.

"I am proud of my 105 goals and this Napoli," the Captain told Napoli's official website.

"I'm happy about this achievement but I’m also pleased with what the team is doing. We have played great football for the last two years and deserve to have proper recognition.

"Up until now we didn’t rotate very well and remained unhappy with the results we didn’t get, despite expressing ourselves well.

"Now we have goals and victories, but they are the fruits of our labour going all the way back to last year."

"I am especially pleased to have won this match which puts us up there in the standings and gives us so much confidence on the back of victory in Lisbon.

"We listened for months to the words of those who said that we did not have a striker, but in fact this squad is strong and has many quality forward players.

"I do not know if we are at our best, there is still much to play for and we are only in December.

"Of course I am proud to be in this team and we still want to grow to reach the top."
