The Slovakia international was on target in the 3-1 win, allowing him to equal Maradona’s all-time club record of 115 goals in the Napoli jersey.

“It’s nice to know, it’s very pleasing to score 115 goals as a midfielder. That’s a good number,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“We are really happy with the performance, because the game could easily have ended with more goals. We’re back to the side we were and that is very important.”

As Inter lost 3-1 to Udinese earlier this afternoon, Napoli are the Serie A leaders again. Does that give them a psychological advantage?

“I don’t know if it’s an advantage to be top of the table, but it can help us remember our strength and realise we’ve got to fight to the end.”
