Marek Hamsik says Napoli are targeting silverware this season – ‘We want to please our fans, they deserve it’.
The Partenopei finished a disappointing fifth last season, and got the new campaign underway in underwhelming style, losing at Sassuolo.
“They caused us problems on set pieces and corners,” Hamsik recalled of last weekend’s match, speaking to Mediaset.
“We lost our balance, and that shouldn’t happen to a team like ours. We have to keep playing as we did early in the match.

“We’re at the beginning of the season, and it’ll be a marathon. There’s time to recover, but we can’t drop points on Sunday [against Sampdoria]
“We want to win, because we’re playing at home for the first time, since we couldn’t play friendlies at San Paolo this summer.
“We can’t wait to get on the pitch and show that we’re strong.
“The aims for this year? I’m hoping for a trophy, we want to please our fans, they deserve it.”
