Marek Hamsik’s representatives have met with Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis to discuss a new contract for the player.
The Slovakian has been a Partenopei player since 2007, when he signed from Brescia.
The 29-year-old is also the club’s captain and, according to respected journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, talks between the two parties took place on Thursday over the player’s long term future in Campania.

Italian media claim that the contract could be signed as early as Friday, with Hamsik to put pen to paper on a new four-year deal with the option of a fifth.
