Marek Hamsik rules out a return to Napoli, but hopes Fabian Ruiz stays at the Stadio Maradona.
The Spaniard has been linked with Real Madrid and Barcelona, but Hamsik, a former Napoli star, hopes Fabian won’t leave the Stadio Maradona.
“It was a great choice for him to join Napoli because he’s had a chance to play the Champions League as a protagonist. He has improved so much and he could play for any other club, but I hope he stays in Naples to achieve great things,” Hamsik told AS.com.
Hamsik left Napoli in 2019 after 12 seasons at the club.
“I miss Naples, it’s been too long since I haven’t gone there. I want to go back to see my friends again.
However, the 33-year-old is not planning a return to the club.
“I don’t think it’s going to happen, there hasn’t been an opportunity. Napoli rightly look to the future. I decided to join Trabzonspor before the Euros so I could only focus on the competition.”
