So far this season Stefano Pioli hasn’t given the 19-year-old a single appearance and his father, arguably the greatest Romanian footballer of all time, says he’ll be on the move in January.

“A year-and-a-half ago, my discussion with Fiorentina was that they were signing him to play,” Hagi Sr said in a Press conference today, as reported by Digi Sport.

“Unfortunately things didn’t remain that way and that’s his situation at the moment. I can’t tell you why he isn’t playing, I’m not going to analyse Fiorentina.

“I need to find a very good solution for him, and when I say good I’m talking about a club where he has to play, where he’s in the top 14 players, because he needs matches.

“With Fiorentina things are clear, I know their ideas because I’ve talked to them, and for Ianis it’s important to play.

“I won’t rule out Serie B, even if our desire is to be in the top division.”
