Erling Haaland’s father, Alf-Inge insists the Manchester City superstar wants to succeed in every top European league, including Serie A.
The Norway international has had a sensational start to the season at the Etihad Stadium with 23 goals in 18 games across all competitions. He joined the Premier League giants from Borussia Dortmund for €60m last summer.
Haaland was close to joining Juventus in 2017 when he was still playing for Molde and his father has confirmed that a move to Italy in the future is possible.
“Erling could stay at Manchester City for 15 years because he is happy and we are talking about a great club,” he told France Football as quoted by DAZN.
“However, I think he wants to prove he can win in any top league. He spent two and a half years in Germany and could do something like that in the future. Stay three years in Premier League and then move to Italy, Spain or France. Nothing has been decided in this regard, but it’s a possibility as Erling can win in any team.”
Haaland’s father said something similar in September when he refused to rule out his son’s move to Italy’s top flight or other top European leagues.
The Norway international scored 86 goals in 89 appearances with Borussia Dortmund between January 2020 and June 2022. He has 21 goals in 23 appearances with his national team but failed to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar.
Haaland’s contract at the Etihad Stadium expires in June 2027. His father and Rafaela Pimenta are the striker’s representatives.
Haaland spent a few days during the World Cup break in Italy, visiting the Ferrari factory in Maranello and tasting some of Emilia Romagna’s culinary specialities in Bologna and Modena.
