Erling Haaland’s father Alfie says the Manchester City striker wants to ‘prove his abilities in all leagues’ including Serie A.
The Norway international joined the Premier League giants in the summer and has had a tremendous impact at the Etihad Stadium with 14 goals in 10 appearances across all competitions.
His father Alfie has spoken about his move to Man City in the documentary ‘Haaland: The Big Decision’ explaining that every top club has tried to secure the striker’s signature.
“On our list, I think City is the best team,” he said as quoted by Marca. “[Bayern] Munich is number two. We have Real Madrid as number three, PSG as number four.
“We also have some English teams other than City who are quite good. Liverpool and Chelsea. Also, there is Barcelona. They are sort of in the same row.
“I think Erling wants to prove his abilities in all leagues. Then he can stay there for three or four years at the most. He could be, for example, two and a half years in Germany, two and a half years in England and then in Spain, Italy, France, right?”
Haaland was close to moving to Serie A in 2017 when he visited Juventus‘ training facilities and even watched one game from the stands at the Allianz Stadium where he was seen wearing a black and white hat.
However, he refused the Bianconeri’s offer as he would have been sent out on loan or initially deployed in the Juventus U23 squad playing in Serie C, Italy’s third division.
He will come to Serie A when he is 34
