Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland points out he ‘never said’ he was close to joining Juventus and adds Mino Raiola ‘is the best agent in the world.’

The Norwegian striker won the Golden Boy award on Monday.

“I am proud of it, it’s a motivation to do even better and reach new targets,” he said.

His agent Mino Raiola did also speak during the award ceremony and the 20-years-old praised him.

“He is the best agent in the world, he’s been helping me so much, I want to continue to work with him,” Haaland said.

Although the striker’s father has recently revealed he visited the Allianz Stadium with Haaland in 2017, the Borussia Dortmund star pointed out he never said he was close to joining Juventus in the past.

“Many people say it, but I never said it. I’ve been at Borussia Dortmund for only on year and I am really happy here."

The 20-year-old did also release an interview with Sky Sport: "The last 18 months have been incredible for me, I enjoyed them so much in two fantastic clubs first at RB Salzburg and then at Borussia Dortmund," he said.

“The Ballon d’Or is a dream for everyone but now for me it’s time for the Golden Boy, I’m proud to have won it.

“I have had many idols in my life, I try to learn as much as possible from other strikers. [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic is one of the best ever and I try to learn as much as possible from him, he is one of my idols.

[Jens Petter] Hauge is doing well, we are close friends, he is a great talent. He plays in a nice club and in a great championship.

“He must continue to work hard and play as he is doing. He has a great career ahead.”
