Guidolin on ‘once in a lifetime’ 7-0

Udinese are bearing down on fourth place after their “once in a lifetime” 7-0 win, but Francesco Guidolin is trying to keep their feet on the ground.

“Our positive moment continues, we are satisfied with the performance in Palermo and thank the fans who celebrated our return to Udine,” said the Coach on the official club website.

“We want to continue along this path and will fight with all our strength to stay in this position. We're not accustomed to the glare of the spotlight or all these cameras, but it is an aspect of our jobs.

“We've got to immediately forget the victory, which brought us three points and nothing more, so we can focus on Bari. They'll be tough to face, as they're desperate and incredibly determined.”

Udinese started the season with five consecutive defeats, but have now moved to within one point of fourth-placed Lazio.

“This is the moment where we have to prove our maturity,” continued Guidolin.

“I couldn't imagine a game like the one we had at Palermo, but we worked to get out there with courage and character.

“I'm proud of the nice words people said about my squad. The lads really impressed in a difficult arena and the 7-0 is one of those results that happens once in a lifetime. The players were the protagonists and deserve the plaudits.”
