Matteo Guendouzi is reportedly willing to reunite with his former Arsenal coach Unai Emery at Aston Villa given that he’s not on good terms with Lazio boss Igor Tudor.

Lazio appointed Tudor in March to replace Maurizio Sarri, but the ex-Croatian defender has held several meetings with Lazio directors and President Claudio Lotito over the last few days to discuss the summer transfer strategy.

Several sources, including Sportitalia and Corriere dello Sport, claim Lazio and Tudor have different views on new signings. The coach has demanded several reinforcements, while the Bianconcelesti expect him to work and ‘valorise’ the footballers who are already in the team.

Guendouzi: Lazio midfielder pushing to reunite with Emery at Aston Villa

This, on paper, means Lazio want to keep Guendouzi beyond the summer, but the ex-Arsenal midfielder is not on good terms with Tudor, so he will ask to leave if the Croatian remains in charge.

Guendouzi and Tudor had already had a fallout at Olympique Marseille and their relationship has not improved in Rome.

The midfielder’s agents, quoted by Corriere dello Sport, revealed Aston Villa’s interest last week. Now, the Rome-based paper claims the French midfielder is pushing to join the Premier League side and play under Emery again.

Corriere dello Sport claims Lazio expect an Aston Villa offer between €25m and €30m for Guendouzi in the coming days.
