Genoa ace Albert Gudmundsson has reportedly given his green light for a move to Inter in the summer amidst interest from Tottenham and Juventus.

The 26-year-old Icelandic forward has continued to shine for Alberto Gilardino’s side this season, playing a key role in their rise to the mid-table in Serie A, helping to give them a comfortable cushion to the relegation zone in their first season back in the topflight.

Gudmundsson seems destined for a high-profile move away from the Ligurian coast this summer and a number of clubs have already registered their interest in him, including Inter, Juventus and Tottenham. His contract with Genoa lasts until June 2027 and he has a €30m price tag.

Page two of today’s Gazzetta dello Sport details how Gudmundsson has decided to prioritise staying in Italy and has given his green light for a move to Inter in the summer, opening up to the Serie A champions-elect.

The Nerazzurri now must set up a deal that suits Genoa and one idea is a loan with an obligation to buy clause attached. Negotiations have a long way to go until an agreement will be in sight.

In the Lombardy capital, Inter will have to thin out their frontline a little, needing to decide what to do with Alexis Sanchez whilst also finding a new home for Joaquin Correa, who’ll return from Olympique Marseille. Things are also unclear surrounding Marko Arnautovic.

Gudmundsson stats

This season, the 26-year-old Icelandic forward has scored 12 goals and provided four assists in 2533 minutes of action across 29 matches in Serie A and the Coppa Italia.
