Fiorentina have submitted an official offer to Genoa for star forward Albert Gudmundsson and are confident a deal can be agreed.

The Viola have entered a new era under former Monza coach Raffaele Palladino and have started to add reinforcements to his squad in Florence, picking up Marin Pongracic, Moise Kean and Andrea Colpani. There is also interested in Weston McKennie and Domenico Berardi.

Fiorentina may also have to sell in the coming weeks as both Atalanta and Juventus are interested in a move for talented winger Nico Gonzalez. The Viola have identified Gudmundsson as an exciting replacement and have been in close contact with Genoa.

Gianluca Di Marzio details how Fiorentina have submitted their first official offer to Genoa for Gudmundsson, proposing a €5m loan deal with a €20m conditional obligation to buy clause attached.

The Ligurian side would prefer a slightly more costly loan deal but have opened up to the idea and talks are progressing positively between the two clubs. There is increasing confidence in Florence that a deal can be agreed soon.
