The deal was unlocked last night as Genoa reached an agreement to sign Andrea Pinamonti on loan with an option to buy from Sassuolo, allowing Gudmundsson to move to the Stadio Franchi.
The Iceland international arrived in Florence this morning and is currently undergoing medical tests with his next club.
His move to Fiorentina also means that the Tuscans will likely allow Nico Gonzalez to join Juventus in a €30m deal.
