Fredy Guarin insists he’s delighted to still be at Inter after he almost left the club for the second transfer session in a row.

The Colombian international was close to joining Juventus in January, but the Beneamata opted against completing a swap deal which would have involved Mirko Vucinic.

The attacking midfielder was then paired with the likes of Zenit, Manchester United, Benfica, Real Madrid and Valencia last month.

“I’m very happy that I’ll continue to wear this shirt,” stated the 28-year-old on social media. “Forza Inter.”

The former Porto player held talks with boss Walter Mazzarri at La Pinetina on Tuesday. He could be in the starting XI to face Sassuolo at the weekend, behind Mauro Icardi, in a 3-5-1-1 system.

The player’s agent also recently insisted that Guarin didn’t want to leave the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza outfit.

“I want to make it clear that Guarin never requested a transfer,” representative Marcelo Ferreyra told Calciomercato.com.

“Fredy is happy at Inter, always has been and will continue to be. We are absolutely not thinking about the transfer market.

“Fredy has everything he wants at Inter and has no need to go elsewhere. From what I hear, the offers were received by Inter.

“Walter Mazzarri will get the best out of him, just as he did last year.”

The player has scored 15 goals in 88 appearances for the Beneamata.
