Fredy Guarin’s agent said Inter never considered selling the Colombia international and he wants to become captain.

The midfielder has repeatedly been linked with a move away from San Siro, including to Juventus, but starts his fourth full campaign.

“The club and Coach Roberto Mancini have faith in Fredy, so all the rest is just speculation and rumours,” Marcelo Ferreyra told Calciomercato.it.

“The club and Coach Roberto Mancini have faith in Fredy, so all the rest is just speculation and rumours,” Marcelo Ferreyra told Calciomercato.it.

“I’ve decided not to talk about the market for the last two years. Wearing the captain’s armband is a dream come true, but also a big responsibility.

“Fredy is at the peak of his maturity as a player. This is his fourth full season at Inter and I think he could prove himself to be the best midfielder in Serie A. It can be his year, but he must work hard, 24 hours a day.

“Someone close to Inter said it would be impossible for him to become captain. This acted as further motivation and pushed Frey on even more.

“There was also a tactical switch and lifting his head he now has three or four options to pass to. His dream is to become part of Inter history and do it as their captain.

“He dreams of the Scudetto. His heart and mind are with the Nerazzurri.”
