Guarin, who played for Inter from 2012 to 2016, released a statement to express his position and thank all those who are supporting him in this difficult moment.
“I want to express eternal gratitude to my family, my friends, my fans, my teammates and the club management for the solidarity and unconditional support regarding my current personal and family situation,” Guarin said, according to Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
“Regarding the versions circulating on social media about what happened, I want to clarify that what is said about my family members is not true.
“I ask for respect for them, especially for my children, who must not suffer the consequences of my public exposure nor of my acts.
“Today, I face one of those difficult matches, but I’m sure that with the help of God and those who believe and know me, I will win it.
“I immensely appreciated all the messages of encouragement, which give me the hope of improving day by day.”
