Fredy Guarin is hoping he can become a reference point for Inter during the 2014-15 campaign.
“Hopefully, I can show what I'm capable of this year,” the Colombian told Sky Sport Italia.
“I get really annoyed with myself when I'm not able to perform to my full potential. I hope to show everyone – myself first and foremost, then the fans and the Coach – that Guarin is here.
“I can't wait to get involved again and perform well. We all have to go out there with fire in our bellies, then the technical side sorts itself out.
“There are some great teams that have strengthened, but we have a good group of lads here who are hungry.”
Guarin still finds himself at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza after being strongly linked with a move over the course of the last two transfer windows.
“The people who needed to do something to keep me here did so – and by that I mean everyone, from the club to the fans,” he added.
“Now it's up to me to prove my worth. They helped me and now I have to help myself.
“What's in the past is in the past. We have a new group of players now and a Coach who is really hungry and determined – he shows us players that constantly.
“I'm here and ready to show put my skills to use on the pitch, just as he does it off the pitch.”
Inter, who drew 0-0 at Torino in Week 1, face Sassuolo this weekend.
