Rudi Garcia’s men played back-to-back games with the German champions, conceding nine goals across the two fixtures.

The results, coupled with CSKA and City’s mean that Bayern are certain to qualify from the group in first place.

Roma travel to Moscow in the next round of games, and will qualify if they win and Manchester City don’t win in Munich.

However, there are fears that Guardiola could field a weakened side against the English champions in order to save his players for future tests.

The former Barcelona Coach, though, has reassured the Giallorossi, and urged them not to be too downhearted after their comprehensive beatings by his side.

“Don’t be depressed about these two games,” Guardiola implored Rome in quotes reported by Leggo.

“Roma are a great team, with a great Coach.

“Of course, they’re only at the beginning of their journey but they can qualify from the group in the Champions League and win the Scudetto.

“As for the next two games [against Manchester City and CKSA Moscow], I can assure you we’ll do everything to win. It’s not our style to play games just for the sake of it.

“It’s all in Roma’s hands. Here at the Allianz, Roma caused us more problems than you’d think.

“In Serie A, there are no teams which play better than Roma.”
