Pep Guardiola reveals he congratulated Carlo Ancelotti following Real Madrid‘s title win last week and explains why he admires the Italian coach: ‘He perfectly controls his emotions.’

The Premier League giants meet Real Madrid tomorrow in the second leg of the Champions League semi-finals. The first leg at the Etihad Stadium was one of the most spectacular games of the season and ended in a 4-3 win for the Citizens.

In the meantime, Real Madrid won the 35th title in their history on Sunday, beating Espanyol 4-0. Ancelotti has become the only coach to have conquered the title in the top five European leagues.

“I congratulated him for winning the Spanish title last week,” Guardiola said at a press conference, as quoted by Marca.

“I admire him, he’s been all around the world, coaching fantastic teams. He is an exceptional person. I knew him a few years ago and every time we are together, he is very calm, he perfectly controls his emotions.”

Guardiola was asked whether he had watched the last Clasico played in Madrid in March that saw Barcelona win 4-0.

“I didn’t watch the game, just the highlights and not all of them,” he revealed.

“Karim Benzema didn’t play and Ancelotti did something uncommon with Luka Modric, so it wasn’t a game I could refer to.”

Ancelotti rested Benzema in the last home match against Barcelona, playing Modric in a very advanced position along with Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo and Federico Valverde.

The former Milan coach has lifted the Champions League/European Cup five times in his career, twice as a player and three times as a coach. Only Bob Paisley and Zizou Zidane have won as many in the dug-out.

He bragged about this in the sports news that he was training the RM team to taunt Donna, and then a few days later Donna with frayed nerves was unable to stop the NM screamer. Thanks Ancellotti you ever come near this team we will BC you.
