Foden scored a goal, but it was not enough for the Three Lions to avoid defeat against France.

According to the report, Parma tried to sign Foden on loan twice that summer.

Their ex sporting director Daniele Faggiano called Guardiola but immediately understood there were few chances to sign the English youngster, albeit on loan.

After a few weeks, it was D’Aversa himself to call the Manchester City tactician.

Guardiola once again rejected Parma’s offer, explaining: “He is a young player, but he is very strong. David Silva will leave, and he’ll be a starter this season.”
