President Urbano Cairo has denied reports about Andrea Belotti going to Napoli after the season and has guaranteed the Italy international will stay at Torino.

The Granata are struggling in the bottom half of the table this campaign and Belotti has been looking bleak in front of goal in recent weeks.

His brace against Roma in the first game after the winter break has been his only two goals in 2020, but it doesn’t stop the rumours linking him with a move to one of the bigger clubs in Italy.

His brace against Roma in the first game after the winter break has been his only two goals in 2020, but it doesn’t stop the rumours linking him with a move to one of the bigger clubs in Italy.

On the contrary, it has sparked speculation of a purchase this summer and CasaNapoli reported that the Partenopei have started to negotiate with Torino.

Cairo has denied such rumours with a concise reply to the reporters from Tuttosport and claimed the player would not be leaving.

“It’s not true,” he told the Turin based newspaper, before he went on to guarantee that Belotti will remain at the Grande Torino: “Of course”.

Moreno Longo has yet to pick up any points as the new head coach in Turin and will be hoping that the 26-year-old striker will be back firing on all cylinders against Parma this weekend.
