Serbian wonderkid Marko Grujic admits he’d ‘love to wear the Inter shirt one day’.

The 19-year-old Red Star midfielder has been compared to Andrea Pirlo, and was linked to the Nerazzurri this week.

“Inter are a top club, with many Balkan players,” Grujic explained to FCInterNews.

“I’d love to wear the Nerazzurri shirt one day. For the immediate future though, I’d prefer to stay at Red Star, finish the year here, and win the League.

“Serie A? It’s a great League, with stadiums always full of fans. There are a lot of my compatriots there, so it would be even easier for me to adapt.

“My favourite Italian team? I can only tell you Red Star…

“Do I speak Italian? No, but I’d learn if I were to sign. As for homesickness, Italy is very close to Serbia…”

Grujic did, however, look to play down comparisons to Pirlo, insisting he’s more like Juventus’ Paul Pogba.

“Honestly I think I’m more like Paul Pogba, who is my favourite player. Pirlo and [Dejan] Stankovic are legends, but I think I have different characteristics, because I consider myself a more attacking player.”

Grujic has also been linked with Roma, Chelsea and Manchester United.
