Brescia coach Fabio Grosso says he is tired of talking about Mario Balotelli, preferring to focus on the derby with Atalanta which “prepares for itself.”

Balotelli has returned to the squad for Brescia’s clash with Atalanta tomorrow, and Grosso is backing the striker to put in a positive performance against La Dea.

“I don’t want to always have to talk about him,” said the former Italy left-back at a press conference.

“Every time you come to see if he leaves a minute before or a minute later. I have a sane relationship with him, he’s got some important qualities.

“I repeat, he does have certain characteristics and, if he manages to use them on the pitch, he may help us.”

The Rondinelle welcome their local rivals to the Rigamonti after five consecutive losses in Serie A, but Grosso assures he hasn’t needed to motivate his players for the match tomorrow.

“The derby prepares for itself; everyone knows how important this match is. We are coming from a lot of difficult matches; this is a nice occasion.

“We are facing a team who are highly confident and they will surely give us a hard time, but we are looking at our own objectives.

“We know Atalanta very well, the other coaches who are better than me are praising their qualities. We know what we are faced with, there’s a great expectation.

“I don’t want to put too much pressure on it, but it’s a valuable match. We need the points and we want to take them to help us climb the table.”
