Fabio Grosso insists Fiorentina will need time to settle after a disastrous start to the season and heavy investments. ‘We have so much potential, now it’s up to me to get the most out of it.’
The Viola have lost both their Serie A matches so far this season, 4-0 at Roma and then humiliatingly 3-0 at home to newly promoted Frosinone.
With Torino coming up tomorrow at 14.00 UK time (15.00 CEST), and Moise Kean leaving on deadline day for Como, the tension is already sky high.
Grosso has faith in Fiorentina

“It’s a game against a team that like us has not started well, but it’s motivating and we want to prove what we can do. We analysed what we did wrong and where to improve,” said Grosso in his press conference.
Fiorentina made so many investments and changes this summer in a bid to avoid repeating last season’s troubles that they risk losing sight of the vision.
“We know that we have so much potential, now it’s up to me to get the most out of it. We know what we are, that we have enormous margin for improvement, and will try to get the best out of all our resources.”

Not only have Fiorentina failed to score a single goal so far in Serie A, but they also conceded seven.
“We analysed what happened, are working on the errors and not looking for people to blame any more than we are looking for heroes, because it’s a team sport.”
Among the players who left Fiorentina on deadline day, Rolando Mandragora moved to Torino, and Albert Gudmundsson to Lazio.
“The idea was clear, we wanted to create a new project here and there were changes all across the board,” continued the coach.

“When these things happen, it means those who were involved all made their decisions. I spoke to the strikers who arrived and they have enthusiasm, but I need to understand their condition quickly.
“We changed so much and must figure out how to get the best out of the squad. I feel the responsibility for this project and want to keep it going in the best possible way. We had wanted to fill it out with a few more roles, but the important thing is what we have now.
“There isn’t much time, but we’ll try to highlight some of our strengths and mask some of our weaknesses. Even the strongest teams are never perfect, they are those who help each other out during difficult situations, and we want to become a strong team.”
