Reports from France suggest that Fabio Grosso may soon be dismissed by Olympique Lyon after results failed to improve.

The 46-year-old Italian coach took over at the struggling French outfit on September 18, replacing Laurent Blanc, and worked to try and start quickly climbing up the Ligue 1 table.

Things have not gone to plan for Grosso, however. He has managed just one win in seven games with Lyon and the team still sit rock bottom of the league table, five points from safety.

His time in France has also been marred by poor fan behaviour, which left him injured and bloodied ahead of a clash with Olympique Marseille.

As reported by L’Equipe, Grosso is on the verge of being sacked by Lyon, who are ready to appoint academy manager Pierre Sage as a temporary replacement. Long term options to take on the role include Bruno Genesio, Jorge Sampaoli and Igor Tudor.

Grosso has picked up just five points from seven games with Lyon. He impressed during his previous two-year spell with Frosinone, guiding them to promotion from Serie B last term.
