Freiburg have confirmed Vincenzo Grifo is the fourth player from the Italy squad to test positive for coronavirus.

Announcements regarding Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci and Paris Saint-Germain duo Alessandro Florenzi and Marco Veratti had already emerged from the COVID-19 outbreak in the Italy squad during the World Cup Qualifiers.

Reports in Italy revealed there was a fourth player positive for coronavirus and now Freiburg have confirmed winger Grifo has contracted the virus.

Reports in Italy revealed there was a fourth player positive for coronavirus and now Freiburg have confirmed winger Grifo has contracted the virus.

“Upon returning from the national team, he tested positive for the swab with a low viral load,” the club said in a statement, according to Sky Sport Italia.

“The player had immediately been quarantined and didn’t participate in the away match in Mönchengladbach.

“All other tests were negative.”
